The process of identifying people to serve on a curriculum committee would be similar for a smaller-scale situation—for example, a single K-4 elementary school—but would involve fewer individuals.It may still be desirable to break the committee up into two subcommittees: K-2 and 3-4. In the simplest case where, for example, the task is to consider selecting a new course in high-school biology,only one committee would be needed. In all cases, however, including building principals is crucial because of scheduling and other implications of implementing inquiry-based science programs.
