هي أحد أقضية محافظة الجنوب الثلاث , مركزه مدينة صور التاريخية ، وهي واحدة من أقدم المدن الساحلية في حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط، والتي تنتشر على شاطىء رملي يعد من أجمل وأوسع شواطئه.

تبلغ مساحة القضاء 418 كيلومترا مربعا تمتد على شريط ساحلي من مجرى نهر الليطاني شمالاً ، حتى الحدود الدولية جنوباً ، بعمق يتراوح بين 15 و20 كيلومترا، يضم هذا الشريط سهلا زراعيا خصبا تنتشر فيه بساتين الموز و الحمضيات التي تستحوذ على نسبة هامة من انتاج تلك الزراعات على المستوى العام.

يحده من الشمال قضاء صيدا - الزهراني ، ومن الشرق قضاء بنت جبيل ، ومن الجنوب الحدود الدولية .

يبلغ عدد سكان القضاء القاطنين فيه 167500 نسمة تقريبا، أي ما يعادل 3.9 % من العدد الاجمالي لسكان لبنان يتوزعون على 69 بلدة، كثير منها حواضر ي في 56 منها مجالس بلدية منتخبة.
