Paris has a child .This child is called the gamin. This pale gamin lives, grows, and gets into and out of scrapes, in the midst of suffering, thoughtful witness of our social realities and our human problems. whoever you may call yourselves prejudice, abuse, ignominy, oppression, iniquity, despotism, injustice, fanaticism, tyranny, beware of the openmouthed gamin.

Large cities are abounded with truant children.Statistics shows that streets are crowded with homeless children, picked up, sometimes , by the police in open lots , in houses under construction, and under the arches of bridges. all the crimes of man begin with the vargancy of childhood.
the gamin is disease of the nation - disease that must be cured. how ? By light.
